RECONSTRUCTING KENT BRETTICA

Degemir! I've been growing confident with both my reconstructions of Brettica and speaking of it as well. My form, or dialect, of Brettica is based off of the form of the language as it was spoken in what is now Southern and Southeastern England, in the Roman province of Flavia Caesariensis. Here's some features that I've narrowed down as specific to the Kentish dialect I call Canticka.

- 'P' becomes 'B' in between vowels, example = 'epos'(horse) becomes 'ebos'

- 'U' becomes 'O' in certain situations, example = 'cunos'(hound, wolf) becomes 'conus'

- 'A' becomes Æ'' before nasals, example = 'Cantion'(Kent) comes 'Cæntia'

- 'C' becomes 'CH' when it's the initial letter, example = 'cetton'(wood) becomes 'chetton'

- 'O' becomes 'U', 'OI', example = 'Worancus'(Deputy) becomes 'Woirancus'
