Learning a new language may seem and can be challenging yet also can be fun and exciting. However, when learning a new and different language, not only does it bring challenges and emotions along, but it also helps you stimulate the brain and connect with the culture or ancestors of the respective language. The language that I chose to learn and study is
as I call it, and it's a language that comes from the Uto-Aztecan family tree. This language family consists of Classic Nahuatl, Hopi, Yaqui, Shoshone, and many other indigenous tongues. Because Anahuacan is the root of many modern languages within this family, I am going to be able to speak and teach its descendants languages like Classic Nahuatl and Yaqui upon mastering it.
Classic Nahuatl is a language that still exists, but it's gradually dying due to Hispanization. It was a language that was spoken by the Aztecs or Mexican people, my ancestors. Learning Classic Nahuatl has helped me rediscover my true self. It has given me an understanding of who I am as a person, where I come from and where I ultimately can pursue life's true purpose and motives. It has and is still building me up spiritually, mentally, and physically, ever since I started learning Anahuacan and its cultural background. It has balanced me and grounded me to a point of harmony I've never known. I have started to appreciate nature for its beauty and for maintaining life to support all human beings in this world, that people take for granted.
On the other hand, Yaqui is another language that comes from Anahuacan. This second choice of language I decided to pick was for the fact that I really find it interesting how Yaqui people can actually speak Spanish yet a lot of indigenous people whose modern dialect comes from Anahuacan do not speak Spanish. In addition, not only do Classic Nahuatl and Yaqui come from Proto-Aztecan but they also have traces of the Spanish language within them, showing shared historical adaptions between the two cultures.
