A seat at the table with the president. In this story Buddy takes us down an unusual trail that begins in the 1940’s with his mother introducing him to a new world beyond the the Eastside, Riverside, one of California’s black ghettos. Through family park excursions and rock climbing adventures, Buddy’s love affair with the California great outdoors flourished. As the story goes, Buddy finds a way to work in the place he loves to play. As he built Buddy’s Contracting Service, he developed skills that earned him contracts for the restoration of Sequoia National Park. It was beyond Buddy’s wildest dreams that he would find himself in the presence of a president to receive congratulations for a job well done.
