The Case For Recording Stories About Our Heroes

In this recording Michael Felts, a cofounder of Traditions of the Ancestors, TOTA, is telling a story of how he began a journey of building an online cultural encyclopedia that has recently changed course. TOTA is currently developing into a never before available platform, that is helping people capture first-person narratives of their elders and community leaders. If, through the telling of the following story Michael is successful, most viewers will leave here not only willing to support TOTA’s growth, they will want to learn how they can launch their own TOTA Group and begin capturing stories of the important people in their lives.

In this next Phase of Traditions of the Ancestors, Michael and his team aspire to become the central location people come to for memorializing and sharing the living stories of their, elders, community leaders and heroes. These first-person narratives will help tell the story of the past century and provide bridges to understanding the Traditions of Our Ancestors.
