DC artist Michael Platt creates printed imagery that centers on ritual and the transformation of the human spirit that occurs when it confronts imagined or actual events and circumstances. This talk will focus on Platt's most recent collaboration with local poet, Carol Beane. The duo will discuss their collaboration on artist books and broadsides that address issues of slavery, Hurricane Katrina, waiting and searching for home.
