Gewürzplätzchen.
(Spiced Drops.)
1 ½ lb. Flour.
¼ lb. Butter.
¼ oz. Ground Cloves
¼ Cardamom.
1/8 oz. Baking Soda
½ oz. Ground Ginger.
2 lbs. Syrup
½ lbs. Sugar
½ oz Ground Dried Bitter Orange Peel.
½ oz. Ground Cinnamon
Boil up the syrup with the sugar. When a little cool, stir in the butter, spice, and flour, and the baking soda. Mix together and knead well. Leave some days to stand. Before baking, roll out very thinly into various shapes and bake a light brown on a buttered tin.
